Voltage problem at tool

Hi,
I have some problem at my UR5 CB3 (FW 3.12). I can’t measure anything at tool I/O. There is no voltage… (12 or 24 VDC) The robot is on. Have everyone an idea? Is there a fuse in this circuit?

Thanks a lot
Christoph

Hello Christoph,

Have you checked the tool settings? It is possible to set the output voltage to 0V.

If you are sure the voltage is set to 24V, then the tool flange is most likely defective (there is no fuse). I have seen a few CB3s with defective tool flanges, because people accidentally connect digital outputs wrong (the tool output is NPN and not PNP).

Also if you are trying to measure 24V on a tool output, you have to measure the gray wire (24V), not the red wire (0V), and the corresponding tool output (blue/pink).

Hi,
thanks for your reply. Of course the output voltage is set to 24V. I’ve try it on a second robot, here it runs. I think the M8 connector is broken, the pins can turn around. That’s not normal…
Our trainees worked with the robot last time
