T2O State Firmware Version Mismatch Error - Siemens PROFINET with PROFIsafe

Hello,

I’m experiencing an issue with my UR20 robot when using Siemens PROFINET communication. The diagnostic status for the T2O module shows a firmware version mismatch error, stating that “The installed (online) firmware version is not identical with the configured (online) firmware version” with firmware version V5.12 and configured firmware version 1.0. However, I don’t believe this is actually a firmware mismatch issue, as all the other I/O modules are showing green status without any similar errors. This suggests to me that something else is causing the problem specifically with the T2O module configuration.

The UR–PLC communication works fine, I’m just wondering what’s causing the error

I’m using the GSDML file gsdml-v2.42-ur-profisafe-20220517.xml for the PROFINET setup with PROFIsafe. Im using CPU 1517F-3 - TIA 20. Has anyone encountered this specific error before or have any suggestions on what might be causing this issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just to back you up in your thoughts; I just had the same issue with other hardware, and the firmware mismatch is not what’s causing you the issue. It’s just the “error” part.

I’m not sure what’s the cause of the error, though. I’ve seen it before, and, as far as I recall, someone had to either make a whole new hardware configuration in TIA Portal or install a new image on the robot.
I hope it’s the former!

Thanks for the quick reply, I have somehow fixed the issue.

After reading your answer, I decided to wait, since the problem had no impact on the functionality, except for a constant error in the PLC.
I was working on something safety-related with the PLC and had to stop all modules to download some changes to the software, when I noticed that the error had suddenly disappeared.

Thanks for your time.
