Plugin about RS485 communication

I want to develop a plugin about RS485 communication between UR-robot and end effector.
How can I complete it? And I know the serial port is “/dev/ttyTool” for tool.
Is there any specific example on how to use the robots rs485 tool communication or serial-port communication?
