Hi there,
we have an UR10e actual application not longer needed, now i plan to weld with it.
We have Fronius TPS/i Machines here, so i want to use one of these for Welding application with the UR also.
I am a little confused about the connection options.
Anyone with an TPS/i here who can tell about the experiences made?
Fronius Offers different options.
Profinet?
Modbus?
I/O?
what is used with the SmartArc UR+ Product?
Maybe in future we want to use it.

Your pretty much stuck with Modbus or I/O to communicate to the Fronius.
Profinet on the UR10e is only Slave (Most annoying) as is the Fronius so unless you have a PLC as master to both your stuck.
I’d personally go Modbus. It’s tidier and Modbus is very simple to setup. the other restriction is the small amount of I/O on the UR might give you some issues.
I’ve never done any welding with a UR but have setup Fronius on Fanuc Robots before.
