USB file icon stuck in programs page and unable to make backups now

Hi,

I have made regular backups before and yesterday when I tried to make a backup, I got a message from the pendant “Unable to read disk” and asking to format the USB stick. I did so on the pendant, I clicked on the backup icon but when I brought it back to the computer, the computer was unable to read the disk and asked to format.

I went back to the pendant but now I have the the 2 USB icons stuck on the programs page and it does not go away. If I plug in the USB stick, it creates a 3rd icon and I am still not able to make a backup. Has anyone else had this issue?

Is there a fix?

Thanks.

Update: - Found the issue. Flash drive had to formatted with FAT32 format. I was able to backup after formatting with this format but I still cant get rid of the usbdisk named icons inside the pendant.

I have same issue. I did a format with Windows, and it worked. Next day I inserted the USB again and now says it can’t read it and needs to be formatted. So I formatted it with the teach pendant and now I see “usbdisk_0”. I took out the USB and it shows “usbdisk” as if there’s a USB inserted. This is on SW 5.13, UR5e

The procedure is:

1. Attach a Keyboard to the teach pendant through the USB port

2. Press Ctrl + Alt + F1 to enter a terminal on the robot

3. Type in the following command : /root/usbplug.sh cleanup

^This is direction provided to me from UR. I didn’t have this problem personally, I had been talking to UR on behalf of a customer, and I have not heard back from them yet. So maybe give this a try?

Edit: Went ahead and threw that command into a magic file so all you need to do is unzip that folder, and put the file on the root of your flashdrive and plug it into the teach pendent. It will automatically run the command for you and you can see if that fixes anything.

I tried first method (with keyboard) and it asked for my password. I just entered the one we use when changing safety settings. I remember when we first got the robot, I made sure to make all passwords to 0110 so only me and a few others know. Is that the password that the cobot is asking for? I am not experienced with Linux so I’m not sure why it says the password is incorrect. Even when I type it in, there are no characters populating on screen. Is this something Linux does when entering passwords?

As for the magic file, I will need to try that tomorrow with a new flashdrive. We don’t trust our current USB anymore :joy:

The password there is “easybot” and yes that’s a Linux thing where it looks like you aren’t actually typing anything.
