UR10 CB3 Teach Pendant turns on but won’t Start,The controller does not supply 24V

My teach pendant powers on but doesn’t start; it stays on a black screen as shown in the image. The 24V and 48V LEDs on my controller aren’t lighting up. I’ve checked and I’m getting 12V at the controller, but I’m not getting any 24V. I disconnected all the signals to rule out a short circuit, but the problem persists. We replaced the teach pendant and the 24V power supply, and I read in another post that it could be the CMOS battery. I took one from another controller and replaced it, but the problem remains.

I have just recovered our UR10 with the same problem as yours. The 48v and 24v will only come on once the CB3 boots up. We replaced the CB3 controller card to fix ours. This and the safety control board in your photo go end of line with UR this year. We sent our faulty card out for repair to have a back up. Hope this helps.

I had the same issues with a UR10e a few months ago. It went back to the service center twice. When I received it after it’s second trip, it lasted about two hours before it shut down again. UR wanted it back a third time. I spoke with our area rep and he had the factory replace the cabinet under warranty. That solved the problem after almost a full year of dealing with replacing 3 pendants and two trips to the sercive center. That box had more air miles than I do. Go around UR and talk to your area sales representive at this point and get your controller replaced.

The problem is solved. We replaced the motherboard of the controller where the Ethernet, DVI, and USB connections are located, and that’s how we fixed it. I’ll contact the UR representative to try to send the board in for repair and have a spare before they discontinue that model.
