Hi everyone,
This is my first post so forgive me if it’s been addressed before.
My company recently bought a UR20.I am surprised that there is no password protection when powering on the robot. It looks like anyone can use the robot?! Is there a way of restricting use?
thank you.
Dave
Hi dorouke.
I don’t think there currently is a way to do what you ask.
There is a build-in way to make safety changes password protected, and I do believe that there do exist a company selling a software add-on aka Urcap that can make files including program files on the program password protected.
But that is as far as know the limits of what you can password protect.
Hope this was helpful.
Best regards CG1
Yes you can password protect it so people can only open a file but not change it. It will also restrict what they can do with the program i.e. they can play, pause and stop. We don’t have a latest version of installed on our robots so there may be more you can do but if you’re using at least version 5.12 you can add a password for this under settings>password>mode and it will tell you what users are now restricted to.
