How can I tell if robot is Remote or Local mode from PLC using Ethernet/IP protocol.
I can see normal/running/idle mode easily in the PLC but couldn’t find status bit of local/remote mode?
TIA

I believe they only expose those states via the Dashboard Server, which in my opinion is not very easy to work with on the PLC. It’s so bad that there’s a company, I think it’s called Robot27 or something, that sells a CAP to make it easier to work with.
Thanks, its bit frustrating that its not included in standard ethernet/ip mapping but tons of other modes.
Its critical for us since robot is controlled by PLC and if someone changed from remote to local mode for teaching and forgets to switch back then there is no way to know unless someone checks the pendant.
Perhaps late for the party but anyway. Setting the Dashboard Server might be easier than it looks.
Saying this by experience.
If you’re Siemens PLC I can help you.
