Connecting Device to I/O On Robot Controller Query

Hi,

I am planning on connecting a pneumatic device directly to the I/O on the robots controller. I have a question on how to correctly connect the analogue I/O wires to robot as the wiring of pneumatic device differs to analogue example in the user manual. To summaries my question, is the analogue AO pin connected to the OV of the digital out as a common GND or will I need to add additional wires?

As shown in the wiring image below for the planned pneumatic device, I plan to get the 24VDC power supply version (using the digital output of the robot controller for power) with a 0 - 10VDC analogue input signal and 0 - 5VDC analogue output signal. The current draw of the device is within spec of control box, would this be the correct wiring method? Or will I need to attach a jumper wires from the analogue I/O AG to the digital output OV?

I would appreciate any advice or finding out if this even is even possible to directly connect this to the control box I/O, otherwise I will need to look for another pneumatic device.

Thanks.

It should work as you’re wiring it in the diagram.
Are you using the DO4 to be able to turn on and off the device? If not, then you should use a constant 24V terminal.

AG should be the same as 0V. You mention AO being 0V, but that’s not the case - only AG (probably a typo from your side).
You can connect the blue wire to either 0V or AG.

Hi, thank you for advising me on this.

Good spot, yes that’s was a typo meant AG not A0 for being the digital output 0V.

Yh plan to use D04 to turn the device on and off.
