Hello, We’re currently considering the UR15 for a sanding application and I noticed that, like the e‑Series models, it also includes a force-torque sensor at the flange.
I’ve read that this built-in sensor allows the use of standard (non-smart) sanders—that is, sanders without their own force-feedback capabilities—for sanding tasks, especially when the required force control isn’t too fast or the sanding path is relatively simple.
Has anyone here implemented this kind of setup? If so, I’d really appreciate hearing your experience—what worked, what didn’t, and whether you’d recommend this approach.
