USB Stick issue and Config files

  1. USB stick as hard disk:
After about two years of operation, we have now replaced the fourth USB stick. It looks like the applied USB sticks reach their maximum write cycles after about 6 months and thus become defective.
Is there any recommendation on your part regarding the characteristics of the USB stick (size, access speed, etc.)? Can other data carriers (external hard disk) be used instead of USB stick?

  2. Restore configuration files:
If the data medium should be defective. Is there a possibility to create a complete backup (image) of the working data medium in advance and to install it on the new data medium without having to convert the programs? Plug’n Play solution?
After program conversion, all MoveL movements have to be relearned in a time-consuming way. We would like to avoid this in the future.

  1. You can make an image of the USB drive on a computer. Then write it to other USB drive on the computer, and you will have an exact clone of the first USB drive.
Judging by your text, you’re using a CB3 robot. Not very relevant to you, but the newer e-series robots have a feature built-in, which enables making clones of the storage device (e-series use SD memory cards instead of USB drives).
