URSim on WSL2 Ubuntu 22.04

Hello,

So I am having an issue finding documentation on how to install URSim on WSL2 Ubuntu 22.04. I know the install for windows says to use a virtual machine but I am going to try and use this for Isaac Sim and I feel like it would be better to go through WSL2 rather than a virtual machine. Any help would be appreciated.

Could you please clarify the issue you’re encountering? From my experience, the main prerequisite before starting the installation is to create a user named ‘ur’ with the password ‘easybot’ and assign them an administrator role. Additionally, ensure that your network connection is functioning properly, and remember to use UTF-8 encoding for all relevant files.

Speaking of ubuntu 22 specifics, you will have to get/compile proper libraries, but that should not make a big deal.

So I am now able to get it to load but there is no communication between URSim and ROS2. I guess I should have been more specific in that side of things. I know ROS2 is set up and is able to communicate because it is able to function when I use it for Isaac Sim. From the tutorials that I have seen in general since I posted this I don’t believe I have seen the method you have mentioned. Is there some documentation you could point me in the direction of?

sorry I am confused. is your question about how to start URSim on WSL2?

here is a relatively detailed instruction:
