Does anyone know why UR changed the tool connector from male to female on the newer UR robots (e.g., UR7e)?
This is frustrating because we have spare grippers we can’t use, as they also have female connectors. I assume we’ll need male-to-male cables/adapters.

did the box not contain a 15 cm adaptor cable, Male – Male M8? I haven’t tried a UR7e yet but the UR5e i recently opened did have an adaptor cable 
When UR came out with the UR series they switched the connectors and then retroactively went back and changed the connectors on the e-series. Like the previous comment said UR should’ve sent an adapter cable in the box. The issue that I am are running into is that on the UR3e if the joints come to close together it would break the pins in the connector.
