Trouble with EDS file

I have a PLC that has been communicating with a UR3 cobot for a long time. I logged into the device to change the IP address of the robot but when I did it said there was not EDS file registered. I went through the steps of the device wizard and point it back to the EDS file, and it gets to the point where it says “You have successfully completed device wizard.” but when I go to click on the EDS file to configure properties, nothing changes. It still would ask me to register an EDS file to change the properties.

Any ideas of what could be going on?

You’re going to have to be more specific. What brand / model of PLC are you using?

I am using a Allen Bradly PLC with Studio 5000.

Haven’t heard of that issue before. Does a new, empty Studio 5000 project take the import? Maybe something in the file has gotten jacked up?

Have you tried running the EDS Hardware Installation tool as an Admin?
