Remote-Access to the Teach Pendant

Hello everybody,

I have a UR10e wir Version URSoftware 5.22.0.1214828 (Mai 12 2025)

Of course I’ve googled this question bevor and I found a lot contradictory information or stuff that doesn’t work.

This is my first project with UR and it seems there is no way to program the Robot from my PC, right? I installed the Robpod Studio, but you can’t open / change the .urp files and if I would program everything in a script I would still need to create the program and load the script from the teach pendant.

So the next best thing would be to remote to the teach pendant, which would still be an comfortable enough way to work with the system. But I’m 38 and I think that is to old to program a machine on a touch screen…. but that is just my preference.

The result that fits most what I’m looking for ist this:

but this doesn’t seem to work with the e-series and the suggested solutions don’t work for me. (I don’t even get the “USB” Messages when I pug in my USB Device)

So my question is, am I missing something? Is there a way to program the robot from my PC? And if nor, is there a way to remote access the teach pendant? What is your way of working with the robot if the program gets a little more complicated?

Best of Luck

Ralf

You can program the robot in the offline simulator. You can’t connect your physical robot to the simulator, though, but you should be able to do the whole structure of your sequence and then modify waypoints when moving it to the actual robot.

The VNC install should work, as well. Just unzip the .zip file onto a USB (the .sh file must be in the root of the USB).
You also have to enable magic files in the setup of the robot to be able to execute them (introduced on newer robots).

Thank you very much!

I just had to enable the magic files, now the remote works as expected.
