I have the same problem than i the topic above, that the OSSD safety device only works as a “Emergency Stop” but not as “Safeguard Stop”.
OSSD1 → SI0
OSSD2 → SI1
24 V → to any 24 V (they are all directly conected, at least thats what i measured)
GND → to any 0 V (they are all directly conected, at least thats what i measured)
ts1 wrote at the end: “For other there experience this problem, remember to use the power supply pins in the controller and NOT at the safety plug!!”
Does that mean, that i have to open the controller an wire the sensor direktly to the power supply or is there an other solution?
No, I think that guy was just saying to use a different 24v terminal anywhere on the controller other than the 24v terminal of the safety connector. So like you can just wire it to any of the 24v on the digital input connectors, for example.
I performed a Continuity measurement between the 24V Pins (blue) and between the 0V Pins (pink).
It seams like all 24V pins are diretly connected and there for it shouldn’t make any difference which 24V pin I use.
And because the pins are power after the complete start up of the robot controller, it starts with a “Emergency Stop Message”.
Does this mean now, that i have to use an external power supply?
But i still dont understand, why the Safeguard Stop does not work.
24V shouldn’t be powered off with an emergency stop. The controller shuts off all outputs, though.
Only in case of faults will the 24V be shut off, as far as I know.
That’s correct. The 24V pins aren’t powered off.
Just at the start, the first scan of the Emergency Stop pins are performed before the startup of the safety device, because the 24V pins are powered after complete start up.
Well. To reply to the rest of your topic: I don’t know why ts1 said you shouldn’t use the 24V of SI. As you said yourself, the 24V terminals are the same everywhere in the controller.
What happens when you connect the device to the safeguard inputs? It should work.
Have you remembered to remove the Reset Safeguard inputs from CI0 and CI1 in Installation → Safety → IO? If this is not removed, the robot will not reset safeguard without a reset signal on CI0 and CI1.
