Error C283A85: Signal timing on configurable safety inputs

Hello everyone,

we wired up some magnetic safety switches (PLd) to the configurable safety inputs.

Unfortunately, if we move our safety doors too slow, the two channels of the safety switches do not switch exactly at the same time and the safety error C283A85 is triggered.

What exactly is the timing requirement for the two signals? Is there any way to configure it?

We tried every possible placement of our sensors and it works fine 95% of the time, but that still means we would run into this issue at least once a week.

Your description sounds like you are using two single channel switches on a gate is that correct? This setup is very difficult to get the near simultaneous triggering that would be required by the robot or really any programmable safety module.

I would suggest using a compatible modern safety switch from Pilz, Keyence, or someone similar. Example from Keyence safety document.

No, we are already using proper 2-Channel safety switches. (Schmersal BNS 33). It just seems that this particular sensor has the two switchen spaced further apart than others.

Is there some setting or adjustment in the PLC where the max. allowed signal timing difference can set?
