C283A1 - Violation

Our Robot has intermittently been giving us a C283A1 - Violation in the middle of its motion. Its not always on the same move but more consistently on one then the others and we are not sure what could be causing it?

Hi,

Have you figured it out? Thanks

C283A1 error is ‘‘robot is not braking in stop mode’’. It is a safety violation. Usually this is caused by :

  • wrong payload and/or CoG specified
  • too restrictive of safety settings (check stopping time and distance but others may be contributing too)
  • a really high accel/decel move where it’s just not possible to stop this fast
  • some external load pushing on the EOAT of the robot and preventing it from stopping fast enough
  • a physical electrical/mechanical problem with a joint
