Access the Analog IO from Installation Node

Is it not possible to access IO values from the Installation node? I used the technique given in the manipulate IO sample to get the analog in value and when i load my cap the installation node now says that something is wrong with my cap. If I remove the IO code from my java file the cap works again. Is there any way to pass those values to the Installation node if you cant access them through there?

Figured this out it just had to do with how i was accessing the variables. Sorry for the bother.
