Hi,
We are looking to trial a new tool on our UR10e. However, the cabling for this is quite heavy at 4.5kg and 5m long, so 0.9kg/metre.
How does adding mass to the arm affect the payload of the cobot?
Thanks in advance ![]()

Heavy accessories mounted on the arm has always been an issue on the robots.
You can’t make a proper payload setting that takes this weight into account (what I know of at least), so the robot will be more susceptible to protective stops due to false collision detections.
Yes, those work well, as well. But you’re limited by the rotation of the head. ![]()
You will probably be alright, if the robot doesn’t have to move fast, though.
