UR10e has been updated to 12.5 kg payload and this payload updated on the flyers but they didn’t updated the “Force sensing Force x-y-z and Torque x-y-z”. Is it not weird that this robot can handle the 12.5 kg payload but cannot sense it? How it can handle 12.5 kg without sensing it? Our customers keep asking this question to us.
Can someone make an explanation to this?
The force-torque sensor is a separate module connected to the tool flange. It’s really only useful for detecting some kind of applied force to the end effector after a payload has already been set. It’s not really linked to the safety settings or payload capacity of the robot.
