I cannot seem to get the network in the simulator working, I cannot tell if this is VM issue or if this functionality is disabled in the simulator.
I set mine to NAT, and then network started working. However, it keeps saying it isnt connected in the simulator, but at the same time it is connected to a few different modbus modules.
In the simulator, the ability to control network settings from PolyScope is disabled.
That means you cannot change the settings using the Network menu in PolyScope.
However you still have full networking functionality.
As @michael.andresen posted, usually NAT works well.
But depends on the VM software capabilities and functionality
Using VMWare I have had good luck with a bridged network adapter as well.
