How to set up external control?

I have a UR10 and plugged my ethernet cable to the bottom of the control box (and the other end connected to my laptop). I’m using the External Control URCap. It gave me a host IP and a custom port, but when I try to run this program it says “The connection to the remote PC could not be established.” Am I missing a step? I’d like to be able to connect via socket from my laptop.

Did you set up networking on the robot? By default, networking is turned off. Must be setup on the setup screen.
