Just started working with our new UR20. We’re trying to use it to replace an UR16e on our robot. Our UR16e was an OEM model, and didn’t have a teach pendant. We were kind of in a hurry and bought a “regular” UR20 since there was no OEM model available.
How do we ditch the teach pendant on our UR20? Most importantly, we don’t want to hold down a 3PE button every time we start or use our robot. Also, the pendant is just extra “stuff” when we want to run autonomously. I read something about wiring up an external 3 position switch, but that’s kind of a non-starter too. We just want to turn the robot on and run w/ our existing on/off wireless estop setup. How can we do this with the UR20?
Nevermind. I totally forget about remote mode. I turned that on, and everything seems OK again.
I think from here we remove the teach pendant and wire in our estop, and we’re good. Any reason to think this won’t work?
