I’m trying to communicate a UR5e arm with a PLC, but when I connect the Ethernet cable to my pc to check that the communication works with a ping command, the pc says that the destination is unreachable.
I don’t know if I have to configure the UR5e to accept the communication via Ethernet, please help.
I don´t have router, only ethernet connection in my pc and EtherNet/IP is disabled on my UR. Although doing this, the communication still doesn`t work.
In the robot’s network configuration it says that the network is connected, but the ping from my pc doesn’t have response.
I followed the Profinet Guide - 20596 guide, and in the PROFINET section of the robot it has his name and IP configured correctly, but the connection is still in yellow mode.
What’s the IP address of the robot, the PLC and your PC?
When connecting your PC directly to your robot, you should be able to ping it, if it’s in the same subnet.
You will need a network switch to set this up. You have to be connected to the PLC, while the PLC is connected to both your PC and the robot. Then you have to assign device name according to the manual.
Did this work for you?
Also make sure PROFINET is enabled in the system settings of the robot. That might not be mentioned in the PROFINET guide (outdated).
You haven’t enabled PROFISAFE, right?
