Can you upgarde the RAM in URs?

Recently I had to replace the teach pendent on one of our URs. I noticed that the RAM module looks to be a standard laptop DDR3 RAM module. The controller is not as fast as it use to be with added URCaps and the program growing with additional functionality.
My question is can I upgrade the 2GB card in the unit to 4GB or more to help with performance/speed?

I am interested in this post - has anyone tried this - also, which robot/control is this with reference to?

I don’t think you will achieve anything by upgrading the RAM module. If your robot is slow, you should instead delete programs from your program folder and remove URCaps not needed etc.

I was encouraged by UR to not add RAM.
Reducing the number or URCaps or threads in your program is the best way to manage this on the older hardware.

UR seems to be addressing this is the next generation of controllers which unfortunately does not help us with older controllers.
I ended up writing some small code/functions to replace larger URCaps and help with performance on my robots.
