Elbow joint limit

a UR5 was sent for wrist joint maintenance. Now, I have a problem with the elbow joint reaching the limit when the arm is stretched. I can not move the elbow the other direction because the base comes in the way.

What could cause that problem, please? how can I recenter the elbow back again?

A follow up question. Should the kinematics calibration be performed after joint replacement?

The joint may need to be “zeroed”.
Please refer to the Service Manual.
Also I’d recommend reaching out to your local service partner for help in these kind of issues.
