I need help/advice with the following: I have a UR10 in one of our machines for packaging. I already have an HMI controlling another robot which puts the products in these boxes. I want to have the control of the UR directly beside this HMI, but the cable of the teach pendant is too short for this, and I can`t reposition the control box.
Is there an extension cable available for the teach pendant, so I can place it where I want it, or is there a way to connect a touch screen HMI, from where I can control, start, stop the UR10? Like mirroring the teach pendant screen to this HMI.
The robot supports VNC. So you can set up a VNC server in the UR and use a HMI that supports VNC connections.
You can search this forum for more threads regarding this.

To set up VNC for HMI integration with your UR10, you can find helpful discussions on this forum. These threads include guidance on how to use VNC to mirror the Teach Pendant screen and interact remotely:
Installing XRDP on UR controller
Discussion about XRDP as an alternative for remote desktop connection on a UR controller, which might provide different options compared to VNC.
You should check these threads for specific instructions, insights, and troubleshooting tips related to setting up VNC or using other remote access configurations with your UR robot. Let me know if you need a deeper dive into any of these topics or additional assistance!
A VNC client will mirror the screen from the server. You only need to set up the VNC server in the Linux operating system. It’s not too difficult. You will also have all control over the screen.
The easiest way is to connect the robot to the internet, and then everything can be done through the terminal. But read into this in the other threads.
