# Xml rpc error connection

Hi

When i tried to launch an ur script who used xml rpc, i have XMLRPC Failed with exception: unable to transport xml to server and get xml response back. Libcurl failed to execute the http post transaction, explaining failed to connect to 127.0.0.1 port 8080: connection refused.

The ur script is:

var\_1 = rpc\_factory(“xmlrpc”, “[http://127.0.0.1:8080/RPC2](http://127.0.0.1:8080/RPC2)”)

and my python script is

import xmlrpc  
from xmlrpc.server import SimpleXMLRPCServer  
import urllib

def get\_data():  
return 1

server = SimpleXMLRPCServer((“127.0.0.1”,8080), allow\_none=True)  
server.register\_function(get\_data, “get\_data”)  
server.serve\_forever()

Could anyone help me ?

You may just need to look at using a different port. Based on this [article](https://www.universal-robots.com/articles/ur/interface-communication/overview-of-client-interfaces/) port 8080 may be connected to other URCaps since they defaulted to that port.
