# Rtde using with ExternalControl URCap

I am working on UR5e and i would like to use ur-rtde to program it.

as written in this [link](https://sdurobotics.gitlab.io/ur_rtde/examples/examples.html#use-with-externalcontrol-ur-cap) i could use the ExternalControl URCap to connect exchange the data with my PC.

I added the flag “FLAG\_USE\_EXT\_UR\_CAP”, activated the URCap connection and executed the code but i get the following:

> ur\_rtde: Please enable remote control on the robot

but if i enable the remote control mode, that means i don’t use the UR Cap, is that right ?
