**Date:** To be implemented in production at the 1st of September **Product(s) Affected:** All e-Series **Overview** We have improved the M8 connector at the flange to move towards a more robust connector solution. **When:** The first Cobot with M8 female will not ship before September. Detailed information about the implantation date will be announced during Q3 2024. **Detailed info:** The current M8 connector will be changed from a male version to a female version. The connector will be inside the tool cap as illustrated in the pictures below. Will the UR20 keep the old connector design? Since it doesn’t classify as an e-series robot. 🙂 EDIT: That’s my bad. The UR20s we have here do have the new connector! ---

**It is now in production** Starting from mid-September, the e-series have now transitioned to using the M8 female connector at the tool flange. This change aims to reduce the risk of collision damage at the flange and streamline our product offering by incorporating the already implemented female connector from UR20/UR30. Our repair and maintenance strategy will continue to support repairs for male connectors upon customer request. By including an adapter cable, we will ensure backward compatibility and facilitate a smooth transition for our partner ecosystem. Just want to be sure, is the male to female adapter cable included with all new UR robots (3e, 5e, 10e, 16e, 20, 30)? How long is UR planning on shipping robots with this adapter cable for? ---

Hi @bedwards, The adapter is a male to male and it is delivered with all robots that are shipped with a female tool connector. There is currently no timeline for removing the adapter. As soon as a date is set, we will share it with all of you. ---
