# How to get / set the value of a global variable

Hello,  
I am just a beginner at URCaps development.  
I would like to know if there is any possibility to get and to set the value of a global variable in an Installation Node.

What I am aiming to do is to set up a Java Server inside the installation Node in order to provide the capability to set and to get the value of the global variables declared in Polyscope Environment.

I hope my question is understandable.
