# Can you transfer multiple programs from a USB onto a new robot at once?

We have 10 UR5 Cobots now and sometimes we need to switch which machine they are running on. Right now the only way to transfer programs that I know is to put them on a USB and copy and paste them one by one. I am wondering if there is a faster way. I have tried copying all the programs from a folder on the USB but it will not let me copy a folder out of a USB.

There’s no way to do easier it in PolyScope.

If all the robots are on the same network, then FTP is definitely the best option for you. You can connect to each robot’s filesystem with an FTP client such as Filezilla, access the programs and copy them to and from that folder. 🙂

Here’s the magic file from UR’s website that does what you want. Just make sure that you have a flashdrive containing only the programs you want to transfer, as the magic file will just copy EVERY program/script/installation/etc file to the robot.

I don’t know why I didn’t think of that. 🙂 That’s definitely the easiest way to do it without having to set up network etc.

Just tried that and it worked Eric, super quick and easy. That will be a lifesaver for me in the future. I appreciate the help!
