# Boot UR5e into remote by default

Hi

I’m using a Python script to control the robot remotely. I wish for the operator to NOT use the teach pendant at all, just press the ON button and then the script takes over.

Currently, I have to locally use the mouse to switch to REMOTE mode upon booting the robot.

Is there a way to automatically boot into remote mode?

Did you ever find a way to accomplish this. I currently have a cell with 16 UR robots and no teach pendants. It would be awesome if I didn’t have to remote into them and select remote mode after power on.

If Remote is enabled, when you shut down the robot, it should still be enabled when turning on the robot again. 🙂

For some reason it actually changes to manual.
